10 Fascinating Facts About Ferrets

By  |
The unique small ferret has just been popular as a pet for about 30 years, though domesticated for millennia. Although they resemble rodents, ferrets are in fact members of the mustelid family that is carnivorous, alongside otters, weasels, minks, badgers, and wolverines. They can be infinitely interesting creatures using an extended history of production planes, hunting, and participating in one of the very outrageous blood sports on the planet.

10. Ferret-Legging

In various locations around the planet, an early, terrible sport has formed a revival. Ferret-legging is an endurance event wherein two live ferrets are let loose in the participant’s trousers, which are cinched away at waist and the ankles. The creatures bite in an effort to get free and claw. The victor is the guy who is able to resist the longest torments. Among the largest “names” in the sport is Reg Miller of England, who introduced the idea of wearing white trousers, to better show the blood shed from bites. Among the essential rules of ferret-legging, of course, is the fact that players aren’t permitted to undergarments. Up until the past few decades, records stood at significantly less than a minute, but in 2010, the record was shattered by two guys who kept the ferrets for a record 5 hours and 30 minutes in their own trousers.
